Project Outline

Terp Inspector is a personal project that was started by a friend and I in 2022. We started this cannabis review page to educate people on the qualities that make cannabis good vs bad. We hoped to inform people about the popular cultivar that was circulating at the time so that people could make informed decisions on their purchases. We also wanted to give credit to the people who were taking the time to do things right and perfect their craft.

Macro Photography

These images are taken at anywhere between 1-5x magnification. Each image is made of multiple images stacked on top of one another at different focal lengths. This is a technique called image stacking.

Below are some of the more professional photos I took for a couple vaporizer products. I would like to do some more shoots like these in the future given the opportunity.

Branded Cannabis Photos

For people with branded cannabis, I offer creative photos with their packaging and some of the flower. These photos would be perfect for online shops or for social media posts.

Project Outcome

Since the start of the page we’ve grown to over 500 followers without any promotion and without any interaction for over 6 months. We’ve gotten a lot of good feedback on the quality of our photos and reviews and have been approached by multiple people asking for reviews and photos. It’s been exciting to see the support we’ve seen from a community that can be fairly critical of others opinions.

In the future I would like to expand into taking more professional photos for cannabis business and growers across the country. I would also like to expand into microphotography when I am able to get the equipment. I’d love to be able to get an even closer look at the small worlds that are hidden from our normal vision.
